TERMS AND CONDITIONS

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") outline the basis on which Backyard Mountain Hostel ("Hostel") provides accommodation and other products and services to Customers ("Customer") and Guests ("Guest"). By making a booking, the Customer agrees to these Terms.

 

1. DEFINITIONS

In these Terms, the following terms have the following meanings:

• Arrival Date: The date on which the Guest’s stay at the Hostel begins, as specified in the Booking Details.

• Booking: A reservation made by the Customer for accommodation and additional services, confirmed by the Hostel.

• Booking Details: Details of the reservation, including the number of Guests, rooms, length of stay, and any additional products/services.

• Charges: The total amount payable by the Customer for the Booking, including any additional charges.

• Customer: The person making the Booking.

• Guest: The Customer and anyone invited by the Customer to the Hostel in connection with the Booking.

• Hostel: Backyard Mountain Hostel, located at Ginzling 254, Mayrhofen, Austria.

 

2. BOOKINGS

2.1 Bookings can be made via the Hostel’s website or by contacting the Hostel staff directly.

2.2 Customers must provide identifying information such as name, address, phone number, and email address when making a Booking.

2.3 A Booking is only confirmed once the Hostel has provided written confirmation.

2.4 Changes to a Booking (e.g., dates, length of stay, or additional services) are subject to availability and may incur additional charges.

2.5 When booking beds in shared rooms, the Hostel will attempt to place Guests from the same Booking in the same room, but this cannot be guaranteed.

 

3. FEES AND PAYMENT

3.1 The Charges will be communicated to the Customer at the time of Booking.

3.2 Charges cover accommodation only, unless otherwise agreed. Additional costs (e.g., meals, room service, or internet access) will be charged separately.

3.3 Payment must be made in full in advance unless otherwise agreed.

3.4 If the Booking is not fully prepaid, the remaining balance will be automatically charged to the provided card on the day of arrival.

3.5 The Hostel reserves the right to pre-authorize credit cards without additional consent from the Customer.

3.6 Accepted payment methods are:

• Credit/Debit Cards: Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, American Express, Diners Club.

• Cash Payments: Only for in-person payments at the Hostel.

3.7 Prices include VAT. If local laws require changes to VAT or other applicable taxes, the Hostel reserves the right to adjust prices accordingly.

 

4. CANCELLATIONS

4.1 Cancellation Policy

• Guests may cancel free of charge up to 30 days before the Arrival Date.

• For cancellations within 30 days of the Arrival Date, 50% of the total Charges will be incurred.

• In case of no-show, the full amount of the Booking will be charged.

4.2 For group bookings of 8 or more people, the organizer must contact the Hostel directly or via email for cancellations or modifications.

4.3 If a discounted, non-refundable rate was agreed upon, all Charges will remain payable regardless of cancellation, modification, or no-show.

4.4 If a Guest fails to cancel on time or does not show up (no-show), the entire reservation will be considered canceled, and full Charges will apply.

4.5 The Hostel reserves the right to cancel a Booking in case of force majeure, such as extreme weather, natural disasters, or other unforeseen circumstances beyond the Hostel's control. In such cases, an alternative date will be offered at no extra cost.

4.6 The Hostel may cancel the Booking if the payment details provided by the Customer are invalid and no valid alternative is provided.

 

5. CHECK-IN AND CHECK-OUT

5.1 Check-in time is from 2:00 PM. Early check-in may be possible upon prior arrangement, but full access to all services may not be guaranteed before standard check-in time.

5.2 Check-out time is before 10:00 AM. Late check-out without prior approval may result in an additional night’s charge at the standard rate.

 

6. HOSTEL RULES

6.1 Valid photo identification (passport or driver’s license) is required at check-in.

6.2 Guests must behave respectfully and not disturb other Guests. Failure to do so may result in removal from the Hostel without refund.

6.3 Smoking is prohibited inside the Hostel, except in designated smoking areas.

6.4 Pets are allowed but must be registered with the Hostel before arrival.

6.5 Guests under the age of 16 are not permitted. Guests aged 16-18 may only stay in private rooms with written consent from a parent or guardian.

 

7. FOOD AND DRINK

7.1 Charges do not include food or drink unless otherwise stated.

 

8. DISABLED GUESTS

8.1 The Hostel complies with relevant accessibility laws.

8.2 Customers with specific requirements should contact the Hostel in advance.

 

9. HOSTEL LIABILITY

9.1 The Hostel is not liable for indirect damages, loss of profit, or business losses incurred by the Customer.

9.2 The Hostel does not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by its negligence or that of its staff.

 

10. PERSONAL DATA

10.1 The Hostel processes personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

10.2 Data may be used for reservations, marketing, and statistical purposes and may be shared with carefully selected partners.

10.3 Personal data will only be disclosed to authorities when required by law.

 

11. GENERAL PROVISIONS

11.1 These Terms are governed by Austrian law.

11.2 Any disputes will be handled by the competent courts in Austria.

11.3 The Hostel reserves the right to update these Terms. The version applicable to a Booking will be the one in force at the time the Booking was made.
